History of Community Baptist Christian School

Community Baptist Christian School is a ministry of Community Baptist Church. The church was started in 1961 with the efforts Bob & June Barrigar. Under the leadership of Pastor Douglas Jackson, CBCS was established in 1981.

Pastor Jackson's burden to found the school was based on the need to train young people to serve God. He realized that children and teens were spending many hours each day in an educational environment where the mention of God's name was not welcome.

CBCS was established to provide a school to put Christ back in the center of our children's lives. For this reason, our church continues the ministry of CBCS.

In response to the biblical admonition for families to bring up children in the knowledge of the Lord, CBCS provides an education strong in academics while seeking to reinforce Christian principles within each student to help them have a life-long commitment to serve Christ in all areas of life including the local church.
